check out books to take home AND have access to digital items on Libby and hoopla (eBooks, audiobooks, etc.)

To get a library card,  you will need to come in to either the Main Library or the North Branch with your photo ID.

  • If your photo ID does not have your current, Madison County address you will also need to bring something that does (a piece of mail, a bill, etc.)
  • If you do not live, work, go to school, or own property in Madison County, you will need to pay for an Out of County card at $25/year. Out of County cards are only available to patrons who live in counties adjacent to Madison County.
  • Those with an out of county address will need to bring proof they work, go to school, or own property in Madison County in order to waive the $25 yearly Out of County fee.
  • Children under age 17 must have a parent or guardian present with them to apply for a library card.

DIGITAL LIBRARY CARD

An E-Card gives you the ability to access all of the Jackson-Madison County Library E-Resources. If you already have a Jackson-Madison County Library card, you do not need an E-Card. Your Library card gives you access to all of our resources. Residence requirements are the same for E-Cards as physical library cards.
