As the saying goes, a New Year is definitely a time to look ahead with anticipation.
Off course, the Tennessee Room isn't so hasty to discard the past. We organize and archive!

Here are some examples pertaining to New Year festivities.

Elizabeth Bond Scrapbook Collection

Elizabeth Bond, a Jackson High School student, filled the pages of her senior scrapbook titled The Girl Graduate. Her entry for New Year's Eve 1920 (p. 106) shows party souvenirs and mentions the attention of two young men.

St. Luke's Episcopal Church Liturgical Calendar 1943 

St. Luke's Episcopal Church printed a parish calendar in 1943. Birthdays of parishioners  are printed on the days of the month.  Church directories and ephemera can be very helpful for genealogy research!
